Zack Snyder's long-awaited science fiction epic Rebel Moon Part 1 "A Child of Fire" finally has a release date. The film will hit Netflix on Thursday, December 21 in the US and Friday, December 22 in the UK and Australia. The film is the first in a two-part series and is set in a distant future where a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy is threatened by the tyrannical Regent Balisarius (Rupert Friend).
The colony's only hope is a young woman named Kora (Sofia Boutella), who is destined to save her people. Kora must gather a team of unlikely allies to fight against Balisarius and his army. The film also stars Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Ed Skrein, and Cary Elwes.
Snyder is no stranger to big-budget action films, having previously directed 300, Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League. With Rebel Moon, Snyder has created a visually stunning and action-packed adventure that is sure to please fans of science fiction and fantasy.
In addition to the theatrical release, Snyder has also announced that extended R-rated cuts of both Rebel Moon films will be released on Netflix in the summer of 2024. The R-rated cuts will feature more violence and gore than the theatrical versions.
